Dear Parents,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Misty
Dillon and I will be Troy's Preschool Instructional Coach this
year. Many moons ago, I earned my BA degree from the University
of Illinois and my MA degree from St. Xavier University, concentrating
in Early Childhood Education and EC Special Education. In 2011, I
completed my English as a Second Language endorsement through
Lewis University. In March 2020, I completed my education to obtain
my LBS1 endorsement.
I started my teaching career in 1989 for the Chicago Public
Schools. I spent three years teaching third grade and four years
teaching kindergarten. After the birth of my first child, I became a
stay-at-home mom for ten years. I am now the mother of four
children and reside in the Joliet area. This is now my 16th year
of teaching special education at Troy. Over the years, I have been
honored with receiving Troy's "Q" Award (Quest for Excellence), the
Susan B. Dowse Award, and the Will County Great Teacher Award in
both 2016 and 2019. I am the parent of an amazing son who has
special needs. I have 25+ years of experience with the world of
special education. I feel very blessed to be able to be a part of Troy's Preschool
Program. I look forward to an exciting and successful year.
Sincerely,
Misty Dillon
